I wanted this page to feel a little more personal. Tutoring is not just about working through questions — it is also about trust, patience, and helping students feel more confident across subjects like maths, science and problem-solving.
Why I Started
One of the main reasons I wanted to tutor is because I know how frustrating it can feel to sit in class, listen carefully, and still walk away confused. When that keeps happening, it can turn into stress pretty quickly.
It is easy for students to start feeling like they are just “bad” at subjects like maths or science, when really they may have just needed something explained in a different way, at a different pace, or broken down more clearly.
With Petrak Tutoring, I want to help students get past that feeling. My goal is to make subjects like maths and science feel more manageable, less overwhelming, and a lot more understandable.
My Approach
I try to keep lessons clear, calm, and adapted to the student in front of me rather than forcing everyone into the same style.
I like to break things down into smaller parts so students can actually follow what is going on instead of just copying a method without understanding it.
Not every student learns the same way, so I try to adjust how I explain things depending on what makes the most sense for them.
A big part of learning is feeling comfortable enough to say when you are stuck. I want lessons to feel supportive, not pressured.

I study Engineering at The University of Queensland and have a strong academic background in maths, physics and problem-solving subjects.

I also completed high school with a strong ATAR and have past tutoring experience, which helped me develop the ability to work with different students and explain concepts in a way that is clearer and more approachable.
I am still always improving how I teach, but that is part of why this matters to me. I genuinely care about explaining things well, being patient, and helping students feel more capable over time.
